Kiezism – Drei Zimmer mit Aussicht, 2002
Poster edition
Ingo Vetter and I created this poster for the group show “layered histories." (Former Staatsbank Berlin, curator: Ulrike Kremeier) The show brought together international artists working on the representation of urban space in Berlin. We wanted to support the Kinderbauernhof am Mauerplatz (an animal farm for children) just next to our former apartment because we perceived it as an ideal urban space: Low key, open for everyone, and with a lot of opportunities for public use.The Kinderbauernhof was founded in 1981 on an abandoned lot right behind the Berlin wall in Kreuzberg. After 1989 the value of the lot increased substantially due to its proximity to the new city center, and the Kinderbauernhof came under pressure. We spread the poster all over town to gather financial support for the Kinderbauernhof.
Today, it is still thriving!
