As an art teacher, I often ask myself how we distinguish individual expression compared to something that is simply "well made"? How do we decide which piece has failed, and which one shows artistic ambition in its deviation from the model? For this photo series I sneaked into the art room of my former high school during Christmas break and photographed 9th-graders clay copies of the famous sculpture depicting Egyptian pharaoh Chephren.
