What Can Be Shown Cannot Be Said, 2013
As an art teacher, I often ask myself the question: At what point do we "professionals" value individual expression over accurate copying? How do we decide which piece has simply failed, and which one shows artistic ambition in its deviation from the model? For this photo series I sneaked into the art room of my old high school in Königsfeld, Schwarzwald, during Christmas break and photographed student's clay copies of the Egyptian pharaoh Chephren.
